Monster Hunter 2 Armor Guide

Post by Alala Kuran on Tue Sep 30, 2008 3:18 pm

Topic Rules: This is actually an FAQ post, so do NOT post all random
talk here, please. Also, I will only make one post here, and allow my
personal family/friends as staff here edit my post, or I will by myself
in order to update this. Other users may post in this topic ONLY with
suitable info about the topic's main idea: Armor creation information.
If approved, I will update my info on my current post here with what
you have just shown me. If improper info, either I, or another staff
member will be forced to remove it and give you a warning.

!-Note that some of the info WILL be incorrect, I will change it when I
can get over personal problems.
!-Some parts of this faq will be just a quick slap-in. I will provide better
details when I can get freelance time for this.
!-Aztec star (*) behind a set means this is incomplete of now, or has
been updated/recorrected.
!-Expect some short abbreviations for monotonously repeated used
parts for a set. (I.e: Giaprey Scales, Velociprey Hides, Earth Crystals
= Gia-Scales, Veloci-Hides, E-Crystals.), but if for example Velociprey
Hide vs a Velocidrome Hide, I will use "Veloci-Hide" only for the weakling,
and leave the "drome" parts alone as normal for describing the Boss's
parts compared to his/her Peon's parts.
!-This will be updated WEEKLY, so try to check back each week or two.
!-Ack! Shimatta! There's a post size limit, so try not to mind me multi-
posting, 'tis impossible to fit all of this data into a single post (was totaly
unaware of this! Sorry!)

Topic Beginning now Below-

Well, I'll at least start one. My 2nd FAQ to start, but this time, a big
set. I'll be the first to start a Armor Guide. This is not much however,
but will also include a weapons section as well. This will be changing
all randomly overtime with updates. The point of this is because nobody
started a armor creation guide, but multiple weapon and decoration
guides, none ever containing the Pat-Down direct info of WHAT and
how you need to make/unlock them however. I won't include items
however because that already IS out. I'll include a set for MH-F1 as
well later on, but I'll start with Monster Hunter: Freedom 2 first since
I'm kind of pro at the beginner stages.

Contact me if you have any sets of unlisted armor creation items or
possible corrections of my errors, and please do NOT spam:
Email: etnasuigintou@gmail.com (or sophia_xiaoyu@tekken.cc)
Forum: http://heavenssolice.sephorum.com

this FAQ will be started in my forum.
Maker: Renetona (AKA: WhiteLen as GameFAQs.com user)

Some items are already given to you from the start, but in case you lose
them because of wanting a better version of it, or lack of inventory space,
etc. I will also include those as well.
Very well, we shall begin...

_______________________
Armor Section
_______________________
(You need armor to raise your defense, armor can be leveled up to 10 levels.
Some full sets will amplify your stats, some can curse you however, be warnned..
with proper attachments however, that can be arranged =^n_n^=
Warning!! : Armor Leveling is exclusive to Monster Hunter: Freedom 2 or higher,
this system was not released yet in Monster Hunter: Freedom 1!
)

Mafumofu Set;
Contains Helmit, Gloves, Torso, Tasset/Belt, and Pants.
Usable by: Both Bladers and Shooters
Full-Set's Special abillity activation: Divine Protection, Automatic Anti-Frost.
Extra abillities:
Pro: High Frost resistance.
Con: Fire vulnerability.
Unlocking Requirement: None, it's given to you at the start of the game.
Max Level of a piece: 10

Part Creation Requirements:
Helmet Requirements (Mafumofu Hood) : Anteka Pelt (001), Unlock: none
Torso Requirements (Mafumofu Jacket) : Anteka Pelt (001), Unlock: none
Gauntlets Requirements (Mafumofu Gloves) : Anteka Pelt (001), Unlock: none
Tasset Requirements (Mafumofu Coat) : Anteka Pelt (001), Unlock: none
Leggings Requirements (Mafumofu Boots) : Anteka Pelt (001), Unlock: none

Appearance: A outfit that you would obviously wear in a very cold place, such
as the artics. An Eskimo-like outfit.

Personal Info: This is your beginner set, as you start in the -Mountians- Stage.
It has the lowest defense of any set I've seen so far, but will provide excellent
defense against any cold-zone environments of the game, and is also a good
"Last Resort" if you have no Hot Drinks or Spicy Mushrooms. When you move to
much stronger armor, please be sure that you leave this in your item box, it is
NOT recommended in ANY boss battles, even if it is leveled to max!

*Leather Set;
Applicable for BOTH Blader and Shooter.
Contains a helmet, shirt, gloves, belt, and shoes.
Part Creation Requirements:
Helm: Disk Stone (01)
Armor (Torso Part): Disk Stone (1), Anteka Pelt (1)
Vambraces: Small Monster Bone (1), Anteka Pelt (1)
Belt: Sm. Monster Bone (2), Anteka Pelt (1)
Green Pants (seems to go with this set?): Sm. Monster Bone (1), Anteka Pelt (1)

Stats, etc:
*Pro: Alchemy?, etc...
Con: (no penalty)
Total Defense without upgrades on full set: 10. (2 per 5 parts)
Unlocking Requirements: get some of the parts, then it should appear in
the creation boy's shop.
Personal Info: yet another set of a Newcomer's armor. Anyone who played
Monster Hunter Freedom 1 will remember this set right away. It has been
slightly modified for a start here, but not much. IMAO, this armor looks a bit
like crap on me, and the defense is still almost as horrible as before, but at
least it will provide some special abilities without too much of a penalty.

Chain Set;
Applicable for BOTH Blader and Shooter.

Part Creation Requirements:
Helm: Iron Ore (2), Sm. Monster Bone (2)
Mail: Iron Ore (3), Anteka Pelt (1)
Vambraces: Iron Ore (2), Sm. Monster Bone (3)
Belt: Iron Ore (2), Anteka Pelt (2)
Blue Pants (assumption as the above's "Green Pants") : Iron Ore (2), Anteka Pelt (3)

Stats & etc.:
*Pro: Health up, Backpacking up, etc?
Con: Paralysis Vulnerability.
*Total Defense on full set: ?? (forgot this one)
Unlocking Requirements: Find 25% of the proper amount of items, and
they should become available.
Personal Info: Also a returning beginner's armor from MH-F1. Still looks a bit
like wearing a trashcan, but is a bit better than the Leather Armor for being
metal. However, by nature and science is the fact that this is subtle to being
fried easily by any bolts of lightning, and paralysis lag is longer.

Hunter's Set;
Contains a helmet, shirt, gloves, belt, and shoes.
Warning Note: There is two different set types. This is a
split set for Blader or Shooter, but equally uses the same
requirements to make your job's counterpart set. Helmet
sets are compatible of both sides.

Part Creation Requirements:
Helm: Iron Ore (2), Bullfango Pelt (1), Kelbi Hide (2)
Mail: Iron Ore (3), Bullfango Pelt (1), Disk Stone (1)
Vambrace: Iron Ore (1), Bullfango Pelt (1), Ivy (2)
Tasset: Iron Ore (1), Bullfango Pelt (3)
Greaves: Iron Ore (3), Bullfango Pelt (1), Earth Crystal (1)

!Alternate Path:
Cost for creating Each Part separately: Normal Ticket (1)

Stats & etc.:
Pro: Health up, Carving bonus, Auto-Detect System.
Con: Stun Vulnerability, Thunder Def. Down
*Total Defense of Lvl.1 full set: ???(forgotten)
Unlocking Requirements: 1, Have some Normal Tickets from merhing your
MH-F1 data to here. 2, Use it at the Training School, then get the parts.
Personal Info: Not too shabby, in fact... this one is kind of useful for starters.
We first get a glimpse and feel of it in the Training School. It's an easy bonus
if you load your Monster Hunter: Freedom 1 data into this one, you can only
use some Normal Tickets instead of wasting all those items, but the price is
still a problem. Still, the stun weakness and low Thunder defense poses this
set's thumbs-down factor. Also, not the best-looking to me either, but not
as lame as the chain and leather sets. Also has some good defense for the
beginners.

Bone Set;
Helm: Unknown Skull (1), Blango Pelt (1)
Mail: Brute Bone (3), Bullfango Pelt (1), Giaprey Hide (1)
Vambrace: Sm. Monster Bone (5), Anteka Pelt (2), Giaprey Scale (1)
Tasset: Unknown Skull (1), Bullfango Pelt (1), Anteka Pelt (2)
Greaves: Brute Bone (4), Anteka Pelt (1), Gia-Hide (1)

*Stats & etc.:
Pro: Anti-Theft, Horn Use effect up, Fast Eating(?).
Con: Map Orientation down, Low Ice, Thunder, and Dragon resistance.
*Unlocking Requirements: Get the parts to make it?
Personal Info: not much to say about this. It's a bit revealing, but
not enough to impress the boys. (pssh!) well anyway, it's decant,
but this set has it's downfalls. I never used it that much, so I don't
have much to say, but if you're a beginner in the middle of a thief-
melynx fortified area and need to get something without being pilfered
from, this may give you some good defense against thieves, but
don't use this against the big boys, and it can't cover you 100% of
any thievery, it can only just 75% of the time, so please don't be careless.

Battle Set;
Contains a helmet, shirt, gloves, belt, and shoes.
Warning Note: There is two different set types. This is a
split set for Blader or Shooter, and does NOT allow use of
the same requirements to make your job's counterpart set,
so creating these sets can be a bit difficult; however, Helmet
sets are compatible of both sides.

Part Creation Requirements (For Bladers):
Helm: Disk Stone (2), Kelbi Hide (2), E-Crystal (2), Whetstone (2)
Mail: Kelbi Hide (2), Veloci-Scale (1), E-Crystal (3), Whetstone (5)
Vambrace: Kelbi Hide (1), Iron Ore (3), E-Crystal (2), W-Stone (2)
Belt: Kelbi Hide (2), Anteka Pelt (2), E-Crystal (2), W-Stone (2)
Greaves: Kelbi Hide (1), Bullfango Pelt (2), E-Crystal (3), W-Stone (5)

Shooter Part Creation Requirements:
-*pending*-

Stats & etc.:
Pro: will make each job's side a bit more effective in it's attack points.
Con: raises Hunger rate

*Unlocking Requirements: Clear at least the first roster of Village
Chief's Missions to the point by destroying the Giadrome Boss from
the Urgent Quest to access Mission Level 2, then get the proper
amount of parts. (not sure)

MH-F2: Armor Sets

Post by Alala Kuran on Tue Oct 07, 2008 5:11 pm

Kirin Set;
Contains a hairstyle, shirt, gloves, belt, and shoes.

Warning Note: There is two different set types. This is a
split set for Blader or Shooter, but equally uses the same
requirements to make your job's counterpart set. Helmet
sets are compatible of both sides.

Part Creation Requirements:
Horn (hairset): Kirin Hide (1), <- Horn (1), <- Mane (3), Rubbery Hide (2)
Jacket (torso): Kirin Hide (1), Flabby Hide (3), Rubber Hide (2), Lightcrystal (1)
Gloves: K- Hide(1), Flabby Hide (2), Rubber Hide (3), Thunderbug (2)
Shorts (belt): K- Hide (1), <- Horn (2), Rubber Hide (2), Electro Sac (3)
Boots: K- Hide (1), Flabby Hide (2), Rubber Hide (3), Electro Sac (3)

Full-Set's Special abillity activation: All-Resistance up, Elemental Attack Boost
Extra abillities:
Pro - All Resistance up (especially Thunder), high Auto-Tracking rate (hint: add a detect jewel to activate "Auto-Detect"!).
Con - Item Usage Decline (shorten effect boosts. Everlasting = -10).
Unlocking Requirements: Defeat Kirin and take some of her parts, then the sets will appear.

Description: It's revealing...

Personal Info: My favorite armor set; balanced, and it also has some good elemental boost to it. The problem is how it shortens Item Boost effects at times (negative Everlasting factor).
I'm some reason forced to use this against the stronger bosses however because of the elemental defense it provides and +300 defense if powered up enough.

Exclusive Armor Sets / Armor Parts-
(special outfits in the game that are a bit different to unlock...)
Exclusive Sets-
*Butterfly Set;
Contains helmet, shirt, gloves, belt, and shoes.
Warning Note: There is two different set types. This is a
split set for Blader or Shooter, but equally uses the same
requirements to make your job's counterpart set. Helmet
sets are compatible of both sides. Both sets are for Girls
only.

Full-Set's Special abillity activation: Haste Gathering, Fencing up, Evasion up.
Extra abillities:
Pro - High Fire and Thunder resistance.
Con - Ice and Water Defense vulnerability.

Unlocking Requirements: Get 3/4 of the parts for either side.

Blader-Type Requirements:
Butterfly Testa (helmet): Great Hornfly (02), Hercudrome(02), Thunderbug(03), Flame Sac (01)
Butterfly Petto (shirt): Great Hornfly (02), Hercudrome (02), Killer Beetle (02), Poison Sac (01)
Butterfly Mamba: Great Hornfly, Hercudrome, Monster Fluid

*info unfinished!

Exclusive Parts-
Protection Piercing;
Helmet part only. Can equip to BOTH Blader or Shooter.
Abillity on equip: Auto-Guard (+10)
Extra abillities: none?
Unlocking Requirement: Clear the training school's "Weapon Mastery" roster (all 11 missions within the section)
Part Creation Requirements: Machelite Ore (001), Kut-Ku Scales (002), Velociprey Fangs (004), Iron Ore (005)
Appearance: nope, just your nice looking hair style Razz
Personal Info: Use this if you have no auto-guard jewels attached, or to double the
effect. This hair ornament already activates a semi full-auto guard system for you.

MH-F2: Guild Card Titles

Post by Alala Kuran on Tue Oct 07, 2008 5:17 pm

_______________________
* Guild-Card Titles and change effects
_______________________

The same as in Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology, but not
nearly as useful nor helpful as in such a great game. Razz
This is a list of some requirements to get better titles for your Guild
ID-Card for other hunters to see how hard you can slap a Kut-Ku,
how many Velocidromes you daily bake for breakfast/lunch a week,
how many big boys you can catch alive, ....how far you can run from
a Tigrex, ..........how many times a Congalala can fart on you, lol!
'k, I'm kidding, this just shows how far your rank is and stats in the
game (so it includes almost all of this). If you get a title, you can
edit your Guild Card with it to show off. Titles can ALWAYS be
unlocked so keep hunting! =^n_n^=

!-I am still gathering titles of now, so this MAY be inaccurate!

Pokke (Clear all Village Chief's Mission 1 star quests)
Comrade (Clear all Village Chief's Mission 2 star quests)
Caretaker (Clear all Village Chief's Mission 3 star quests)
Guild (Clear all Guild Mission 1 star quests)
Knight (Clear all Guild Mission 2 star quests)
Silver (Clear all Guild Mission 3 star quests)
Velociprey (Destroy 20 Velocidrome Bosses)
Giaprey (Destroy 20 Giadrome Bosses)
Genprey (Destroy 20 Gendrome Bosses)
*Ioprey (Destroy 20 Iodrome Bosses)? -imaginary, I only made this up...-
White (Destroy 30 Giadrome Bosses)
Snow (Destroy 40 Giadrome Bosses)
Kut-Ku (Destroy 20 Kut-Ku Bosses)
Jumbo (Downloaded Bonus Data)
Kokkoto (Downloaded Bonus Data) *mind my misspelling, I will have to reexamine this

-End of Faq post.

MH-F2: Mid-Advanced Armor Sets

Post by Alala Kuran on Thu Oct 09, 2008 1:36 pm

!-Expect pages to be out of order at times until I gave enough
information properly imported here.

-new!

Rathalos Soul Set;
Both contains a helmet, shirt, gloves, belt, and shoes.
Warning Note: There is two different set types. This is a
split set for Blader or Shooter, but equally uses the same
requirements to make your job's counterpart set. Helmet
sets are compatible of both sides.
Part Creation Requirements:
Helm: Azure Rathalos Wing (1), Azure Rathalos Scale (3), Azure Rathalos Shell (2), Dragonite Ore (2)
Mail: Azure Rathalos Shell (3), Azure Rathalos Scale (2), Monster Fluid (3), Monster Bone + (2)

*Braces: Azure Rathalos Shell (2), Azure Rathalos Scale (3), Fire Wyvern Marrow (1), Machelite Ore (5)
(Warning, I only have currently unlocked Blader-Type of this)

Coil (belt): Azure Rathalos Shell (2), Azure Rathalos Scale (2), Fire Wyvern Fluid (2), Firestone (1)
Greaves: Azure Rathalos Shell (3), Azure Rathalos Scale (3), Fire Wyvern Claw (2), Large Monster Bone (2)

Stats & etc.:
Pro: Hearing Protection, Expert, Attack-Up, Fire and Thunder Def. Up
Con: Protection Down, Water and Dragon Resistance down
*Total Defense of Lvl.1 full set: Unknown (not everything is unlocked yet. A part is approx. : 38 defense)
Unlocking Requirements: Destroy Azure Rathalos at least once and take his parts.
Personal Info: Looks cool, but I've yet to finish unlocking this set. Every elite hunter seems to recommend this set due to a nice Anti-Roar stun defense it provides. (I have just unlocked this set by wasting a Azure Rathalos for the first time today, so I don't know what to say much.)
