I was taught that when the bubbles on them start to pop, thats when its time to flip. But I don't always see bubbles on mine, so I end up with the same results. Sometimes I try to lift the edge slightly so that I can see if they're ready or not.

Isn't it so that everytime you make a pancake, the first one always fails?

It's always the second one for me. The first one turns out completely fine. Odd, right?

Well there's a saying. "The first pancake's for the pan" atleast I think thats how it goes. It generally means that the first one is always gonna fail. But I usually eat the first one anyway, unless its undercooked or burnt.

It's the fact that there's no car at home at the moment and the supermarket/McDonalds is a 40 minute walk from my house.

Ah, that could be a factor. Then again, a walk's good for your health is something I sometimes say.

Uhh..Hm. Thats a good question. There is a points system in the forum's admin panel that can be activated, I believe it slowly goes up as you browse the forum, and goes up a chunk if you post. Atleast thats what I think. You can rename it from points to whatever you want, so I think thats what the Exp here is.
